What do we believe? Check below to learn more about our church's Tenets of Faith. Hesed Christian Fellowship accepts the Holy Bible as the revealed and inspired Word of God, and thus have established these corporate and central beliefs: |

We believe in the Holy Trinity revealed as God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. All having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfection.
John 1:1-4 & 14 & 10:30; 1 John 5:7 |
We believe that Jesus of Nazareth was born of the virgin Mary. That He was the "Messiah", " The Anointed One", " The Christ". He lived a sinless life, He went about doing good, healing all who were oppressed of the devil. At the pleasures of the father, He died, descended into hell, and was raised from the dead on the third day. Thereby, destroying all the works of the devil. Being the second Adam, man's justification and righteousness was purchased by his death and resurrection. He is alive today, reigning at the Father's right hand, making intercession for us.
Luke 1:34-35: John 10:10 Acts 10:38 & 13:33 Ephesians 4:9 Romans 8:34 |
We believe that the bible is the absolute, infallible Word of God. It was given to Holy men by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These Holy Scriptures are used by God to instruct, reprove, and correct man. It is the only basis for doctrine to be used by the body of Christ. And it is to be final authority in the life of the believer.
2 Timothy 3:16 Matthew 5:18 & 24:35, 2 Corinthians 4:18 |
We believe that man is a created being, created in the very image of God. Man was created to have dominion over God's created earth. By reason of Adam's abdication of that dominion, mans has inherited the very nature of Satan, and is alienated from God his creator. And he has no hope for restoration except through Jesus Christ, the second Adam.
Genesis 1:26-27 1 Corinthians 15:21-22. |
We believe salvation is received by faith, believing in Jesus as the Son of God, His death, burial and resurrection, and by verbally avowing him as the Lord of your life, as per Romans 10:9-10. This salvation is a free gift of God, it is by His grace, and cannot be augmented or substituted by one's good works. We believe that affirmation of Jesus as Lord will be confirmed by repentance, and turning away from a life of sin by the believer. All who received Jesus, are "born again" by the power of the Holy Spirit, and becomes begotten children of God. The inward witness of this salvation, is the in dwelling of the Holy Spirit. The outward witness to all men is a life style that imitates the lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 3:22-28 & 10:9-10 Acts 26:20. |
We Believe that through water baptism we participate in the Lord's death, burial, and resurrection. That we should follow Jesus's example in being baptized, and it is a valid biblical doctrine.
Acts 2:38 Romans 6:3-4 & Colossians 2:12 |
We Believe in frequently sharing of the Holy Communion. We are commanded by Jesus to do it often, and in His memory. By faith we believe the elements are his body and blood. And receive forgiveness of sins, and that in partaking of his blood we receive physical healing for our body.
1 Corinthians 11:26 |
|
Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month. |

|
We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, conforming them to the image of Jesus Christ.
John 7:39 & 14:26 Acts 5:32 |
We believe in a separate and subsequent impartation of God's grace, referred to as the "baptism", or the " filling" of the Holy Spirit. This work of grace is an endowment of the power to witness to and continue the work of Jesus. That is, to continue all that he began to do. Going about doing good, healing all who are oppressed of the devil. As a result of this endowment we welcome and accept all the gifts of the Spirit listed in 1 Corinthians the twelfth chapter.
Luke 11:13 Acts 2:4 & Acts 12:17 |
We believe the "Full Gospel" includes holiness of the heart and life. Those who are called by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ should depart from inequity. This holiness is a fruit of our salvation, as opposed to an attempt to earn salvation.
2 Timothy 3:16 Romans 6:22 |
We believe that sickness and disease is a result of an environment of sin in the world, and they are the work of the devil. We believe that divine healing is an integral part of the gospel. The good news is that by the "Stripes of Jesus we were healed". The healing might be an immediate miraculous manifestation, or as a result of standing in faith on God's promises of healing in the scriptures.
Romans 5:13-14, Galatians 3:13, Psalms 103:1-3, Isaiah 53:5, Matthew 8:16-17 |
We believe in the literal second coming of our Lord, the literal rule of Christ upon the earth, the resurrection of the saved to eternal life, the resurrection of the unsaved to eternal damnation, and the ultimate manifestation of the eternal victory of the Kingdom of God.
John 14:3, Luke 1:30-33, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17, Luke 12: 5 |
We believe the callings of the Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor and Teacher are gifts to the church today. For the purpose of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry, that the Body of Christ be edified until the Lord's return.
I Corinthians 12:28, Ephesians 4:11 |
We believe in the Spiritual unity of all who are born of God. Children of God are to be known by their love for each other, and for their love of Jesus the Christ, the Lord of the Church. We emphasize the tearing down of denominational walls. We desire to unite with all who name the name of Jesus, in taking our city, state and nation, for the Lord.
